Some JWs overseas use a false name to evade the authorities. Is this a common practice?
by dropoffyourkeylee ini had posted this a few days ago and got no response, then i realized i had messed up the title, so here goes again;.
i have learned from a credible source that jws from the us have recently gone to morocco to witness, where the work is under ban, and while living there have lived under assumed names.
this is (according to my source) under the direction of the branch (i'm not sure which branch it would be, but i would guess france).

And funnily enough, the jws working in Malaysia whom I met once told me the society has directed them NOT to witness to Muslims at all, but to search out non Muslims so as to avoid trouble with the Malaysian authorities. So they protect their people in malaysia, but to hell with you in Morocco. Witness to Muslims and get killed or jailed, see if we care!

The GENERATION explanation is now a BOLD FACE LIE
by scotoma inwhen i first heard about the new "generation" explanation i was confused because i didn't see clearly how they were explaining it.. now it looks like they finally figured it out for themselves and it is no longer confusing.. it is now a simple, ignorant, bold face lie.. this is from the january 1st watchtower.
(and i hope to hell someone from writing gets wind of this).

I never understood y the jws were so down on jobs wife for being pissed and telling job to drop dead when she'd just experienced the worst thing a mother ever could ten times over and was therefore in a state of absolute despair...no empathy for the suffering...and all the dead children, servants and their families...

i post that we believed in the cross before: meh... "thank you brother for showing us how the light has increased".

You are gonna cop a lot of irrational, mindless hate. I copped the same thing on my page just by putting up wt quotes, things from jw.org like lot's wife graphically dying, and quotes on the divine name n early church from wiki. You post something correct and properly referenced, but it's a challenge to a fanatic's beliefs so you cop a mouthful about what an 'apostate' you are. I've lost dozens of friends this way. You can't reason with them because if you do you look more like an apostate in their eyes. It's good how you keep the focus specifically on the literature without being drawn into inane arguments with these irrational types.

New Homo erectus Skull Shakes up Palaeontology
by cofty ina fantastic homo erectus skull has been found in georgia - no not our former colony, the one in asia.. it is one of 5 that have been found at a site in dmanisi, it's the first homo erectus to be found outside of africa and it is in excellent condition.
the fossils are dated at 1.8 million years ago and comparisions of the specimens have thrown doubt over the details of human evolution.. it is possible that species previously named as h rudolfensis , h gautengensis , h ergaster and possibly h habilis were actually all h erectus.
the natural variation withing the species may be greater than thought previously.. the "lumpers" and the "splitters" are going to have plenty to argue about for years to come.. note to creationists - please read the article carefully.

Quail sammiches
by LucidChimp insomething that used to bother me back when i cared what was written in the bible (nobody's perfect) was the glaring difference between what jesus is supposed to have said in luke 11 -- which of you if your son asks for a fish will give him a serpent, or an egg give him a scorpion.... and numbers 11 where israel cries out for meat (ungratefully or not) and jehovah sends them meat... and promptly kills them before the first munch is munched, for trying to eat what he provided when asked to.. .
to me the sneakiest machination of god here (satan learned from the master i guess) is that the only other time he sent them quail was the night before he sent them manna for the first time... give the people a taste for lovely roast quail sammiches on skybread panini, wait until they run out of sammich filler and then pow!!.
